Indonesia temporarily bans all Australian citrus imports except lemons

Indonesia has reportedly told Australian growers it is banning all Australian citrus imports — except lemons.Indonesia foreign affairs spokesman Arrmanatha Nasir confirmed what he called a “temporary restriction” on the import of Australian oranges and some other fruit, after “Queensland flies” were found in a shipment. He said the restriction would stay in place until the problem was resolved.Mr Nasir said the Australian government was aware of the decision and the reasons for it. The news came after Indonesia issued permits for the import of only 50,000 head of Australian cattle this quarter — down from 250,000 the previous quarter.
