Fresh Logistics Services had its new home, The East Midlands Logistics Centre, opened on Friday 24th of July by The Secretary of State for Transport, Patrick McLoughlin MP.
The event featured many special guests and exhibitors including the MP for Derby North, Amanda Solloway, and the buildings original architect, Ted Cullinan CBE.
One of the most architecturally significant buildings in the East Midlands designed for Olivetti back in the 1970s, the newly formed East Midlands Logistics Centre (EMLC.space) was the idea of Fresh Logistics managing director, Alan White.EMLC.space is the first of its kind in the region, a logistics hub available for all, bringing together a cluster of experts that can share knowledge across the section. The site’s facilities include serviced offices, a full conference centre complete with catering facilities, breakout and meeting rooms, substantial parking and an outdoor garden. It will also pay homage to the building’s heritage with a display cabinet full of original Olivetti typewriters from the early 1900s.
