Italy and Turkey to collaborate on nut production

Giresun with production of hazelnut in countries, Alba cities of Italysigned a sister city protocol.

The 87th international white Truffle Fair, performed in town of Alba, hosted a newly established partnership between Turkey and Italy.

In a special ceremony at opening of fair, Giresun Mayor Kerim Aksu and Alba Mayor Maurizio Marello signed sister city protocol, and proclaimed Giresun and Alba as a sister town.

In his speech, Giresun stated that Turkey is capital of Hazelnut Aksu, “We are happy to be in this region with best Italian nuts. We wanted to establish a deep connection between two cities. Our most important thing in common is our nuts, “he said.

Marello also stated that idea of this brorhood between Giresun and Alba was President of Ambassador Francesco Paolo Fulci, Italian Ferrero Chocolates, who also produced in Turkey.

Voicing production of hazelnut in Giresun, Marello said, “This protocol is desire to establish friendship and Brorhood bridge, to provide cultural, touristic, trade changes and to get closer to this country than anything else “.

“This protocol, signed today, will contribute to development of cultural and social relations between Turkish and Italian peoples,” said consul of Milan in Turkey, who participated in signing ceremony in Alba. I believe that development of inter-communal relations will have a positive impact on economic and commercial relations, “he said.

Voicing satisfaction of witnessing formation of Turkish and Italian cities that produce similar food products, Aksoy said, “Alba and Giresun produce products such as nuts, chestnuts and figs. Therefore, y can do joint work in se areas, develop collaborative projects, “he said.
